The Michigan State University Centre for International Business Education and Research, with its knowledge web-portal “globalEDGE” aims to provide a wide range of information on international business. The global resources section under the heading “resource desk home” gives access to 5.000 online resources. In the “country insights” section, concrete socio-economic statistics (GDP, inflation, degree of unemployment, employees, export, import, public debt, population, religion, ethnic groups, languages, etc.) are available. The data is arranged by country. There is also information about each country's history, economy, government and national stock exchange. Moreover, for each country there are also links to other interesting websites. The site features a search box where you can look for information throughout the whole site or in one of the five thousand resources covered by the search engine.

On this site, you can find the special Eurobarometer report, “Candidate Member countries,” which monitors public opinion on the economic outlook, personal wealth, employment, future job possibilities, defence and elections in candidate member states. The term “candidate member states” still includes those member states that entered the European Union in May 2004. Inquiries began in 2001 and are repeated every year.
